There is quite literally something for everyone at EQ.The name says it all - Sydney's Entertainment Quarter satisfies all your entertainment requirements.
Whether you want to shop, dine out, catch a movie or a world-class live comedy act or just hang out with friends over a drink, EQ is the place to come to.
EQ is the ideal meeting place for the many surrounding entertainment attractions including Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney Football Stadium, the green serenity of Centennial Parklands, and the legendary live music venue Hordern Pavilion.
But EQ is a major attraction in its own right. It's a shop-until-you-drop retail heaven with late night shopping seven days a week as well as the hugely popular EQ Village Markets, featuring fresh produce every Wednesday and Saturday and the EQ Village Sunday Market, featuring merchandise.
If shopping is not your thing you can catch the latest movie releases at Hoyts or Cinema Paris, hit the alley at Strike Bowling, or enjoy a laugh at Sydney's premier comedy venue, The Comedy Store, a world class, purpose built club that has played host to some of biggest names on the international comedy circuit.
Of course some people simply aren't yet sophisticated enough to appreciate casual and stylish fashion, world-class humour, fine wine, the thirst slaking beauty of a cold beer or the many culinary delights on offer at EQ. Nevertheless, children of all ages are well catered for with a children's precinct and Lollipops Playland for the very young ones.   Collapse

food market, gourmet foods

10am-3.30pm, Entertainment Quarter

Lovers of fine foods will be pleasantly surprised by the EQ's fresh produce market...    Read moreLovers of fine foods will be pleasantly surprised by the EQ's fresh produce market, held each Wednesday and Saturday from 10am. Under cover of our sail structure, we welcome you to sample the freshest regional produce and gourmet foods. Many of our stallholders have been with our market since we opened and offer the highest quality produce, including fruit and vegetables, eggs, cheese, breads, olives, nuts, chocolates, cakes and pastries.

Be greeted at our market entrance by a spectacular array of colour, courtesy of Chris May and his team at Mayfarm Flowers. With a reputation for exceptional quality, variety and pricing, they are justifiably proud of their stall and the number of regular customers they attract to the market each week.

Fruit and vegetables are in abundance including, hydroponic and organic. Meliora Farm specialises in seasonal oranges and avocadoes, with many other citrus varieties available throughout the various seasons. Helen Roche and her staff will happily offer samples of the juicy apple varieties grown on her Adelong farm, along with her seasonally available cherries and stone fruits.

With a huge range of cheeses to select from at the EQ Village Markets, be sure you stop to sample Mon Fromage local specialty cheeses or Formaggio Ocello’s selection of imported cheeses, sourced from all regions of Italy. David Borg, our resident goat’s cheese producer, is involved at all stages of creating his Willowbrae Chevre range.

If you have a sweet tooth, we have you covered. The Strudel Baron’s mouth watering strudels, cakes and tarts will keep you coming back for more, while Albert's delicious crepes and waffles at Le Creperie are also well worth making the trip for. Chocolate lovers can also indulge, selecting from Fare Gourmet's handmade brownies.

Bring the family for a relaxed lunch, selecting from international hot foods such as sweet and savoury crepes from Le Creperie, Chorizo rolls from Mojo Picon, Turkish Gozleme or delicious Ethiopian pancakes.

No market trip is complete without a great coffee and we have two of the best on offer at the EQ. Local company Toby’s Estate is fast gaining a reputation for their smooth blends, while Ivan and Linda at Café East Timor are always ready with a smile and great cup of their Fair Trade 3 Amigos blend.   Collapse
