If you’re not sure what Balkan food entails then here are few dishes that you may have heard of. …some of the meat dishes are Goulash, Sarmale (cabbage rolls), Musaka (potato/minced meat pie), Mititei (grilled minced meat rolls) and Chiftele (meatballs covered with breadcrumb crusts). Traditional Romanian dishes featuring fish come in the form of Stews, Rolls, Soups, Salads and Cakes so you’ll certainly find something to tickle your tastebuds!
There are plenty of Vegetarian options too, including Stuffed Vegetables -- Eggplant, Bell Peppers, Kohlrabi and Zucchini, to name a few are typical for Romanian and other Balkan cuisines. The vegetable filling often consists of minced meat, rice or a vegetable mixture, and sometimes white cheese.
Then there are the desserts….! Traditional Balkan desserts rely heavily on Asian Cuisine. Baklava, the best-known desert throughout the Balkans, is a nut phyllo pastry soaked in sugar syrup. Turkish delight, is traditionally served in Balkan cuisine as a dessert, usually with coffee. Other traditional desserts include Rice Pudding, Gingerbread and various types of Pies.
It’s a very modern restaurant and the staff super very friendly, so you’ll enjoy the relaxed ambience in the heart of Kogarah food district. Collapse

Absolutely terrible. Guys sat behind the bar with their so-in-fashion tattoo sleeves while one poor waitress ran herself ragged. Food was on par with a microwave meal - pasta was 100% jar sauce and packet pasta, chicken horrible, salmon was pre-frozen. After two hours our food arrived, including entree and after 2 bites we rushed to pay the bill and run to another restaurant. Sadly too late and... Read moreAbsolutely terrible. More substantial than any of the meals served at this disaster. AVOID. Collapse

A nice restaurant in Kogarah. Overall feeling is that it 's a good place for a family dinner, leisurely friends chat, a local journey into balcan food culture. Staff is friendly and live music creates a really nice impression of cozy night out. The only tiny thing I would improve there are tablecloths. They are perfectly clean and white, but.. paper. Grilled Meat Mix and salad were nourishing and nostalgic for my russian soul )) I think that all eastern europeans will find lots of comfort food in Kapital. There are unusual tea choices. It was surprising for me to see smth different from the common australian tea menu and I tried "Tzigane russian blend". As I said before, the place is nice, I would recommend it. Collapse
