Read moreWhat we are: We are Marine biologists, dedicated to conservation of the marine ecosystem especially the less regarded sharks and rays, we offer education and training in marine conservation and biology and scuba diving. Through education and knowledge, we believe change can happen to preserve the natural marine ecosystems and the natural biodiversity within. We have a commitment to ecological responsible activities on all of our expeditions. We contract scuba diving training professionals to provide free scuba training to as many individuals as possible to empower them to experience the marine environment with the freedom of scuba. We provide the best prices on scuba equipment as part of our pledge to to have as many people as possible dive on regular basis. We provide never ever interest, take home layby on all our equipment over 12,18 or 24 months We provide regular marine education and diving in the hope that we can leave this world in a better state as we arrived.
What we are not: We are not a scuba dive centre in a commercial sence we are not associated with any 'for profit' dive organisation
What do we believe? We believe that with the right knowledge, sharks and rays can live in harmony with fisheries and coastal development
What is our purpose? To give Focus groups, Governments, Developers and Fisheries the knowledge and skills they need to live sustainably.
How do we do it? We have a team of dedicated researchers and volunteers who study all aspects of the marine ecosystem - from habitat and fish species, and coral all the way through to local fishing techniques and ways of life. The results from our work help us to develop procedures and policy to allow fisheries and devolpment to take place in a sustainable way and propose new ideas to benefit coastal communities everywhere. I agree with the other reviews and had a similar experience - bought a nice cheap online deal for $169 (PADI Open Water). I could tell something was dodgy about the whole thing the moment I entered their Waterloo centre. Fast forward a year - about half a dozen cancellations/postponements/venue changes, instructors with attitude and/or language issues, severely shortened classes (PADI recommends... Fast forward a year - about half a dozen cancellations/postponements/venue changes, instructors with attitude and/or language issues, severely shortened classes (PADI recommends two full days of pool diving whereas I had less than 2 hours of it). Near impossible to contact ANYONE, especially the boss.
One advice - avoid at all costs (even if free). Skills that your life depends on should not be learnt from these people.
I went on to re-start my Open Water course with another company (Frog Dive, Willoughby) and paid double the price of these people - but worth EVERY penny! Learnt so much from such a nice instructor in the most relaxed environment. Collapse

They never show up on time. They never book you in correctly or give you the equipment that you purchased. They never confirm your booking. Their equipment is faulty. While underwater we used 5 different faulty regulators. Can you imagine being underwater while you see air bubbles coming out of your BC regulator? Only with sydney underworld you can. Ohh, and the instructor gives you the most... Read moreThey never show up on time. They never book you in correctly or give you the equipment that you purchased. They never confirm your booking. agree with the post below. Got one of the scoopon deals, booked it in, and turned up on the day to be told that we were not in their system at all. Rescheduled it, they offered only AUSI, the classes were disorganised. The instructors were aloof. We get there at 9 am, and waited until 11am before the class started. The next day, we got there at 9:15am and were told that the instructor left without us. DISGRACEFUL. I would not trust their equipment, and I would not put my life in the hands of these instructors. Get your refund if you got a deal from scoopon. Collapse

They are crap. Do NOT do any scuba classes with this company: they are disorgainsed and they LIE: they do not offer PADI. Don't waste your time and money: good luck in calling them if you can get through. They are "marine biologists" not scuba divers. Read moreThey are crap.
