Assagio Ristorante first opened its doors to eagerly awaiting diners in late October 2005.
Situated at 92-94 Kin William Road, Hyde Park an established fashion/retail strip in cosmopolitan Adelaide, which has also gained notoriety for its dining establishments.
Assagio was founded by father and son team Jan and Marcin Kierno, together with Italian cuisine specialist and Adelaide renowned chef Camillo Crugnale. Jan and Marcin both prominent figures in the soccer fraternity. Jan a previously self employed baker and Marcin and experienced accountant, were about to embark on their dream and new careers as restautanteurs.
Camillo brought to the party experienced sommelier Orlando Bagnara and a team of chefs who had worked together for many years with Camillo prior to the birth of Assagio.
Within a year the partnership grew with Orlando Bagnara and three of the chefs given the opportunity to ensure Assagio's care, consistency and attention to detail is well maintained.
Assagio (meaning to 'taste) offers a substantial menu with gluten-free and vegetarian options complimented with an extensive international wine list with an emphasis on Italian style and Australian wines.
Assagio's setting boasts style with contemporary colours and features including and upholstered leather feature wall, mosaics and dark wood finishes. Tables adorned with white linen, red leather chairs, Villeroy & Boch crockery, Riedel glassware and climate controlled wine fridges.
