The historic North Fort, home of The National Artillery Museum is developing into a significant tourist venue.

The fortifications and tunnel system are its focal point.

The museum displays more than 50 guns and mortars and associated equipment, numerous paintings, displays, memorials, and medals.

The Library has over 2,500 photographs, about 4,000 technical and historical books, and unique research material.

The collections cover the period from the first European Settlement (1788) to very recent operations.

Picnic and barbecue facilities are available. Adding to this impressive fortification is its unique location with sweeping views over the ocean and around to the harbour, all nestled amongst the natural flora and fauna of North Head and the Sydney Harbour National Park.

There is also North Fort Cafe which serves lunch, espresso coffee and other refreshments which can be enjoyed along with the best views in Sydney of the harbour.

The Gunner's Shop is located in Artillery Hall and sells ice creams, drinks, souvenirs and military books.

Large groups must make appointments to see the museum.
