Capricorn Seakayaking offers a variety of trips throughout Western Australia.

Penguin and Seal Island

Wildlife up close and personal! We sea kayak past a colony of Australian Sea lions, Pelicans, and view the Fairy Penguins. The rugged limestone Islands of Shoalwater Marine Park are teeming with birdlife. Occasionally we see dolphins swimming by.

We pick-up customers from Fremantle or Perth city and drive to Shoalwater Marine Park, just south of Rockingham (approx 40 minutes from Fremantle). We unload our kayak trailer and our guides fit you with our sunshirts, hats, Lifejacket and snorkelling gear. We provide a brief kayak lesson, and cover some basic saftey concerns and head off kayaking. We spend the morning kayaking through the islands passing the Sea lion colony - these magnificent creatures often swim and play between the kayaks. We provide a yummy morning tea and visit the Penguins before paddling around Penguin Island. We then snorkel before enjoying a fresh lunch on Penguin Island. After lunch we take a walk around the island, where our guides share their local stories. We then kayak back to our vehicle, hopefully with the seabreeze, pack up and head home.

Shark Bay 7 Day Tour

Our Shark Bay 7 day sea kayak expeditions start in Perth and we drive to Shark Bay, where we discuss our trip options depending on the weather forecast. The next morning we organize gear and pack the sea kayaks. After a short kayak instruction and safety talk we hit the water and go! We have various journey options, all depending on wind, seas and general weather.

We are keen to explore less frequented areas of Shark Bay especially the western gulf, around Tamala Station.

We hope to be joined by "Capes" local aboriginal guide to share some of his stories and culture of the Mulgana people, from Shark Bay.

We can expect to see amazing marine life up close and personal. The star filled night sky will amaze. One lasting impression of Shark Bay is the variety and abundance of marine and bird life, from huge white bellied sea eagles, flocks of hundreds of cormorants to rays, sharks, dolphins and dugong.

Hopefully we'll catch a fish or two to supplement our supplies.

Also we have run courses throughout WA. Capricorn Seakayaking is a National Training Provider for Australian Canoeing, the peak National body, and has been running kayak courses since 2001.
