Cronulla, in the Sutherland Shire on Sydney’s southern coast, is the only Sydney beach that can be reached by train, meaning you can visit without headache of finding a carpark.
South Cronulla beach is safe and sandy - and with gentle waves it is great for all beach activities, from swimming to building sandcastles. The nearby tidal pools provide an even more protected swimming in environment and the surrounding rock pools are great fun to explore.
North Cronulla beach, Elouera and Wanda beaches further along this stretch of sand are popular surfing destinations. Local surf schools provide surfing lessons from beginners to advance. Joining one of the classes is a fun and safe way to learn the proper techniques of catching a wave.
