A bastion of animal-friendly dining, this cheery pub offers a wide range of vegetarian and vegan dishes for those after a drink, a gig and some ethical grub. The greatest thing about the East Brunswick Club is that it doesn't preach with its food.
The East Brunswick Club underwent a makeover in May 2006, shedding its TAB and tatty function room and giving birth instead to a genuine live music venue, similar in style and size to the rockin' Northcote Social Club. Kicking things off with a bang, the opening night act at Melbourne's newest live music pub was the covertly named Convicts, better recognised as You Am I.
You can catch great Aussie and overseas acts performing here most nights of the week, with big names like Rose Tattoo even gracing the stage at this great little venue. The East is also a non-smoking band venue, a concept rapidly growing in popularity among clean-lunged musos and fans alike.
