The East Village Hotel began her life as a favourite haunt for Sydney underworld crime, playing host to Australian crime legend, Tilly Devine and was a centre piece to working class Sydney. Our kitchen features the talents of English young gun chef Adam Spencer and his team, who has earned an enviable reputation through his tantalising twists on English traditional and modern cuisine. The East Village Hotel offers high quality restaurant experiences in the Dining Room and much loved pub fare in the Ground Level Bar as well as top end catering for functions.

“East Village Dining Room” is located on the 1st floor, just a short step away from the main bar.

Adam Spencer’s culinary talent will be augmented by the addition of David Pearce as our new restaurant manager, formerly of Attica in Melbourne, Jean George Vongerichten in New York and Banc in Sydney just to name a few.

Adding a new menu designed by head chef Adam to craft ales, cocktails and fine wine by David, you are all in for something very special. Think, seared hand dived Hervey Bay scallops and charred corn puree with Massena “The Surly Muse” Viognier from the Barossa or slow cooked Bangalow sweet pork, apple and fennel ‘coleslaw’ with Jean Claude Bessin Chablis Premier Cru or a melt in the mouth combination of our famous pea, ham and eggs over a glass of Gavi from Piedmont in Italy.

The Ground Level Bar is where you can find patrons of all kinds enjoying the famous East Village hospitality, 7 days a week.

With capacity for up to 120 people and featuring its own sidewalk outdoor area and beautiful yet comfortable finishes and furnishings, The Ground Level Bar is a great place to watch the days and nights of Darlinghurst pass by.

With a full compliment bar serving local and boutique tap beer, a great selection of Australian and New Zealand wines by bottle or glass and the Good Food Guide 2011 ‘one beer’ awarded pub grub of chef Adam Spencer, the Ground Level Bar is a favourite amongst locals and the Sydney bar scene.
