Pull up a stool at Stephen Hodges’ restaurant Fish Face, a regular Darlinghurst haunt that dishes up super-fresh seafood every night of the week.
Welcome to Fish Face, one of the best seafood restaurants ever to be crammed into such a tiny space. There are five high tables, a seven-seat sushi bar, window benches and three outside tables. It’s noisy, the kitchen is open and you may have to queue or settle for takeaway. But persevere because Stephen Hodges (ex-Pier) and Zachary Sykes (ex-Pier and Omega) serve seafood flown in from around he country and stored in specially designed no-air frridges. You can taste the difference in a salad of fennel, watercress and the sweetest, tenderest bugmeat.
