Fort Lytton was built in 1881 to protect Brisbane from enemy attack and for more than 40 years was the focus of Queensland's defence activity. Come and see the fortifications, the moat, the guns and the secret passage under escort by a soldier from the Queensland Defence Force of the 1890s. A trained actor will inform, enlighten, amaze and surprise you on a D.I.T.T.O. dramatised tour.
A wonderful opportunity to explore a typical 19th century fortress, concealed behind grassy embankments and surrounded by a water-filled moat. The museum provides a comprehensive display and interpretation of important aspects of Queensland's military and social history, from 1879 through to the 1950's.
