This award-winning cafe ( winning for excellence in coffee making) should also win awards for excellent customer service. Start coming to Le Monde on a regular basis and before you know it, they will know your name and use it! They are always friendly and the place is always filled with their loyal regulars.
The menu is way above average cafe food and you should try the biscuits or freshly made, evil, calorie-filled home-made slices on the counter. Heaven. Le Monde is all about the coffee and they go out of their way to improve coffee quality and knowledge and Renee and Ant and the ever smiling staff are terrific hosts.
After teaming up with 5 Senses Coffee in 2008, Le Monde realised they were a step closer to that elusive ‘perfect’ cup. With the help of a dedicated roasting company who constantly source the best beans from all over the world, and after months of tasting and profiling origins, a custom blend of coffee was created offering visitors to Le Monde something special and exclusive. To extract the best out of their blend, only the best espresso equipment is used - Synesso espresso machines and Mazzer Grinders.
At the forefront of Le Monde’s food development is the addition of chef Chris Merrick, who has a dedicated history of employment, learning his culinary skills under the watchful eyes of chefs such as Mark Best from Marque, and Daniel Puskas from Oscillate Wildly and Sepia.
In a culmination of passion and dedication to provide Surry Hills with an outstanding café destination, Le Monde prides itself on the ability to give customers fresh flavoursome dishes, offering local produce and fresh goods baked in house on their seasonal menu, giving customers something savoury, sweet or sinful every time they visit. Using suppliers such as Sonoma Bread, Vic’s meat, and Australia On A Plate for select smallgoods and cheeses, it is obvious that quality is an essential element of this premium café.
