The Mundaring Weir Hotel is situated in the heart of State Jarrah Forest just 45 minutes from Perth city centre. It is built on the first piece of freehold land, five minutes walk from the Weir. The drive from Kalamunda is particularly scenic. Colourful wildflowers line the roadside and at dusk kangaroos can be seen grazing.

Less than an hour from the heart of the city, you can enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the Australian bush and superb Hills lifestyle.

Despite the effort of the three local police officers the sale of sly grog was rampant on the Weir construction site until the establishment of the hotel. The hotel housed the local post office in a room next to the bar.

The hotel also had an accommodation wing built on what is now the upper beer garden. It contained 12 rooms but it was demolished in the early seventies.

Outdoor concerts have taken place at the Hotel since the summer of 1985 when David Helfgott performed his first outdoor recital at the Hotel. A stage was erected at the side of the pool for David and the piano. Chairs were put all around the pool, and in the garden area, it was a sell-out concert with 800 people attending. People were sitting on the footpath, in garden beds and staircases. The concert was a great success with people asking for more.
