Offering quality food, wine & beer, convenient & comfortable accommodation, and the best intimate live & original venue in Fremantle, the Norfolk has the total package. The modern Australian menu is available until 9pm, including fish 'n' chips, tapas plates and stand-out pizzas. Sundays are a leisurely affair, starting with breakfast from 8.30am until 11am and finishing with some chilled sounds in the afternoon from guest DJs. There is also a children menu.

Located in the heart of Fremantle, within easy walking distance of all major attractions, the historic pub features the best limestone-walled, alfresco courtyard in Perth. The Norfolk Hotel offers 19 beers and cider on tap, an extensive range of premium spirits, freshly squeezed juices, and a large selection of coffees and teas.

It also offers nine rooms for overnight stay. Located on the top floor, the rooms range from single rooms with shared facilities to family room with ensuite. All rooms offer a flat panel television and fridge, with tea and coffee making facilities provided.

The Norfolk Basement lounge is an intimate performance space and bar which features live original entertainment Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Artists across all styles and from all over the world have graced the basement stage.

The pub's charming heritage-listed stone building and beautiful courtyard are reasons enough to step beyond its gates. With plenty of shade, comfy director's chairs and chilled DJs on Friday and Sunday afternoons, this place is a charmer.

During the winter months, the permeating warmth from the open fire may well lure you inside. Uber-cool sounds flow in the Basement Lounge from Thursday to Saturday, and they can easily draw you deeper into the catacombs. Here, you can catch original performances from local and touring national bands, as well as sessions from some of Perth's more talented DJs, including Phil Cooker, Mikey G and Doug Disco.

Barflies can couple their appreciation of music with a reasonable selection of bevvies from the bar. There's a good range of local wine and mixed drinks available, as well as 15 beers on tap. Sidle up to the bar and order an Asahi, Kilkenny, Swan Draught or Stella Artois.

Like the best parts of the city that surrounds it, the Norfolk is equal parts shabby and chic. Its rustic facade of limestone and weathered timber hints to its historic roots, but there is nothing dated about the comfortably appointed courtyard that fronts the hotel. To be counted among Perth’s best beer gardens, its shady trees and open air are best enjoyed in summer but protective awnings and canopies provide comfort amid Fremantle’s more inclement weather.

The Norfolk is a ritual for the locals, and a must for the visitor.
