The Seymour Centre is situated in the heart of the University of Sydney and is best known for arts education, cultural exploration and audience engagement. Every year more than 250,000 people works with the Centre as performers, directors, theatre creators, technicians, designers and audience.

The Centre present a wide range of the best of modern-day performing arts and even participates in some of Sydney’s major arts festivals like the iconic Sydney Festival, Sydney Children’s Festival, the Sydney Comedy Festival and the Sydney Fringe Festival.

The Seymour Centre is also home to four state-of-the-art performance companies which also does performances in the Centre. The SIMA Jazz presents the best of contemporary jazz in the Centre’s Sound Lounge on a regular basis; major physical theatre and dance works are being performed by Shaun Parker and Co; the Chronology Arts job is the performance of contemporary classical music and Monkey Baa Theatre for Young People makes infamous novels into outstanding theatrical experiences for young people.

Since the Centre is part of the University of Sydney, it also holds student performances and University events. Performances are also scheduled during holidays perfect for families and young people. The Centre also has a program on arts education which helps stimulate performances on the main stage. Discussions and practical workshops are also available every year for K–12 students to take part in.

The Seymour is also dedicated in helping small and developing companies for them to improve and organize their own innovative performance. The Seymour Centre is truly a place where people can come together and enjoy a great time.

The Seymour Centre is a performing arts centre housing four performance venues, cafe, bars, expansive foyers and gallery space. Performances in the theatres range from concerts and theatre presentations, to dance, opera and performances for young audiences.

The Seymour Centre is part of The University of Sydney and hosts a range of educational activities, conferences and public lectures. The Arts Music Unit of the Sydney Conservatorium is also based in the Seymour Centre.

A lively program of music happens in the Sound Lounge every week with SIMA (Sydney Improvised Music Association) presenting cool jazz on Friday and Saturday nights. The Centre also is the home of a number of arts organisations such as Monkey Baa Theatre for Young People, White Box Theatre Company and Arts On Tour. The complex also includes rehearsal studios, exhibition space and catering services.

The Seymour Centre offers a wide range of refreshments. There are multiple bars and food outlets located within the centre and a number of local restaurants and cafes within walking distance.
