Shelly Beach, Marine Parade, Manly is a short stroll south along Manly’s promenade. Shelly Beach is a lovely sheltered cove and one of Sydney’s best aquatic reserves. It’s perfect for snorkelling and picnics.

This spot is wonderfully sheltered from the wind and waves and is popular with SCUBA Divers as well as for the snorkeling fans. Good facilities close to the water and a really lovely place to spend some time getting wet. Eastern Blue Gropers frequent the area as well as giant Cuttlefish, Octopus, Eastern Fiddler Rays, If you are lucky, you may catchy a quick glimpse of a timid Dusky Whaler Shark swimming by at high speed. Shelly is very safe in all but the worst conditions but common sense should always prevail. Generally speaking if the water is rough then visibility is going to be poor anyway.
