The Chart & Map Shop, in the heart of Fremantle, is a veritable treasure trove of cartographic wonders, with thousands of charts and maps covering every corner of the globe. There's also a huge range of travel guides from the likes of Lonely Planet, Rough Guides, Dorling Kindersley, Insight Guides, Michelin Guides, Rick Steves and loads of others. As well as that, they stock a massive range of books on boating, fishing, 4WDriving, travel and the outdoors, and heaps of language learning products.

You'll also find globes, flags, travel accessories and loads of other bits and pieces. The big blue building is well worth a visit when you're in Fremantle.

We stock thousands of nautical charts covering pretty much everywhere and we can offer advice for voyage planning and chart selection whether you're heading from Perth to Geraldton or Perth to Jamaica. For Australian waters, our Navy produces charts covering the entire coast, all of which we have. The British Admiralty produce charts covering everything else and as Western Australia's only agent, we stock all 3500-ish of them. For local Western Australian waters, our Department of Transport produce an awesome set of charts covering from Cape Naturaliste up to Kalbarri, with a few random areas outside that including Shark Bay, Exmouth and the Abrolhos Islands. The charts only cover small areas (up to about 6-7 miles offshore) but in a huge amount of detail. We also stock Land Information New Zealand's charts which cover the waters around that part of the World, including certain areas of Antarctica and the South West Pacific. Every chart we sell is fully corrected up to the day you buy it.

We stock all kinds of books covering a huge range of boating, travel and outdoors-ish type stuff. For travel guides we have the full range of Lonely Planets, Rough Guides, Dorling Kindersley, Insight Guides, City Secrets, Luxe Guides, Michelin Guides, Rick Steves and loads more. We've got languages covered with a massive range of language books including dictionaries, phrasebooks, learning course, kids learning and more. Plus, we have an ever growing range of travel literature.

We've also got your 4WD and outdoor needs covered with books on 4WDriving from how to, to where to, to "What's a 4WD?". There's also camping guides covering everywhere and fiction and non-fiction books Australia and the outback.

Then there's the nautical side of things. We've got a massive range of nautically themed books, things like fishing books, knot books, cruising guides, cruising tales, educational and course books, logbooks; books on shipwrecks, nautical history, boat design, backyard maintenance and novels on all things vaguely boating related, both fiction and nonb-fiction. Basically if it's got anything to do with floaty money pits, we've got it, not to mention a heap of stuff you won't find anywhere else. For technical and commercial nautical books we stock British Admiralty, The Nautical Institute, ITU, ICS, IMO, AMSA, OPL, TSO and loads of other stuff from acronymed publishers of nauticalia.

Topographic maps, road maps, road atlases, small wall maps, gigantic wall maps, medium sized wall maps, world maps, country maps, regional maps, local maps, themed maps, kids maps, maps, maps, MAPS! We make a concerted effort to keep as many maps, covering as much of the globe as possible, in no small part due to our tendency to follow the excellent business model of getting maps in just because we like them, with no real thought to whether anyone will actually buy them. So, whether you're trying to find your way around the other side of town or the other side of the world, there's a pretty good chance we'll have something befitting.

We also source our maps from all over the world, so occasionally place names won't be in English, but it's worth noting that neither will the road signs when you get there. Speaking of English, this small collection of sentences contains the word 'maps' more than twenty times! My unwaveringly erudite, English teaching mother will be impressed!
