This club with a prison theme features funk and house DJs, model searches and dress-up nights. The venue was once a police station with holding cells.

It doesn't seem strange to find The Clink positioned in Fremantle. After all, this locale is well known for its prison history and its early convict connections.

Giving a serious nod to Freo's penal heritage, The Clink is a place where 'more mature' clubbers (meaning mainly 25-year-olds and up) drink, dance and get lost in the steely themes of custody and incarceration.

The Clink is actually set within an old police station. The site originally contained two holding cells for errant criminals, which still remain today but are now used for sipping and lounging.

Blood red decor and cavernous areas all back up the jailhouse setting. And so does the hard-ass addition of a prison-like iron and glass elevator.

Hit the dance floor or wander through the Electro Lounge, which features red leather seating and an oval cocktail bar. Alternatively, slip into the Barouge section which suits private functions. Here, the curtaining can be drawn, leaving you alone with your clique of friends and the beats.

Tunewise, Thursdays are dedicated to funky house and Fridays nights feature live bands. Saturdays offers up chart hits and old classics, while Sundays are filled with vintage retro and time-warped flashbacks.

The Clink also holds model search events and dress-up nights from time to time.
