The UQ Sport Academy (UQSA) is Queensland’s leading provider of strength and conditioning services and coach and athlete education programs.
The UQSA provides strength and conditioning to many of Queensland’s State Sporting Organisations, sporting clubs and schools. We also work with a wide range of individual athletes, from developmental to Olympic level, helping each one to reach their full athletic potential.
The UQSA offers a range of opportunities for coach education and development. Our products cater for teachers, coaches, instructors, exercise and sports scientists, administrators, and the general community. Services include the Evolution of the Athlete Conference, Coach Education Seminar Series; sport-specific education workshops; and the Australian Sports Commission’s Intermediate Coaching Principles courses.
The UQSA was formerly known as the high performance sport department within UQ Sport, based at The University of Queensland. Established in 2008, the UQSA has strong links with the world renowned School of Human Movement Studies at the University. The School of Human Movement Studies is a leader in research and education in the areas of sport science, strength and conditioning and coach education and development. Many of the UQSA staff are graduates of the school and use the expertise learnt during their training to help the UQSA clients reach their maximum potential.
