Ever had the craving of eating authentic organic Japanese food but do not have the deep pocket to do so? Then the Uchi Lounge is the perfect place for your sentiments. Why? Because the moment you step foot into this haven, you will feel like you’ve walked through a portal to The Land of The Rising Sun.

Amidst the hustle of the city and the multiplicity of the Oxford Street, Uchi Lounge stands proud with its Zen ambiance. Since 1997, the facade of the whole place has been intensely changed after it was all done last August 2011. Minimalistic, the downstairs part will make you feel more appreciative of how your meal tastes on a different level. The upper level is on the other side of the spectrum. The whole level is dressed for intimacy, making every moment special, whether seating alone or with your partner or even your group, options available for your discretion.

While waiting for the food, you could admire the modern take on Japanese artworks which are embellished on the walls of Uchi, all the while as you’re enjoying your cocktails or a drink you prefer from their wide selection of sake, wines or even beers to schochu.

The menu is completely Japanese. Not to mention their menu being vegetarian friendly. They also serve food that is wheat free for those who have dietary restrictions. And if you can’t decide on what to order yourself, you could choose to order their uchi or vegetarian set. And their desserts will surely make you want to stay for more.

Events also are no issues. Anything goes. Just book them and the rest is history. Truly, Uchi Lounge has a place for everyone. Itadakimasu!

Located in Brisbane Street between the diversity of Oxford Street and the hustle and bustle of the City, The Uchi Lounge has been a favoured venue in Sydney for over twelve years.

Shinsen (Fresh) has meaning at The Uchi Lounge, with its "No MSG" policy, select organic foods, and seasonal tastes leaving an indelible impression on the palate.

Come and soak up the peaceful ambience and view modern Japanese artworks on display while sipping on one of The Uchi Lounge's sake cocktails. Afterwards, sample the unique culinary specials created daily by our fusion of traditional Japanese and modern Australian tastes.

If you are planning on having a romantic dinner for two or a get together with a group of friends, then The Uchi Lounge is the venue for you.

We hope that you make The Uchi Lounge a new part of your dining experience.

The Uchi Lounge has Sydney's first and Finest Sake Bar, offering a wide selection of premium Japanese and Australian Sakes, plus our own ginger, chilli, lychee and many other naturally infused flavoured sakes.

We also offer a wide selection of original sake cocktails. For something more familiar, we also have a variety of Japanese beers including Sapporo on tap, and a wide selection of Australian red and white wines. We’ll have your thirst quenched for sure!

Otsumami (Japanese style tapas) dishes like Miso marinated Camembert, Umeboshi infused Olives, and every ones favourite, Edamame, are available to order with your drinks.
