Viva la Espana! Who knew we could experience Spain without burning holes in our pockets? With a menu that provides the caress of the provincial Spain, Velero, situated on Woolloomooloo Wharf, will take you on a food pilgrimage.

The menu is all out Spanish and is changed every day and on every season though their menu is mainly on a wide range of Tapas gourmet. The ingredients used in their menu are of high quality, with cured meats being imported from foreign suppliers. Even the equipment is high class. The meats are freshly sliced on a Berkel Italian slicer, which is traditional equipment and is always a highlight, found at the end of their Tapas bar. The meats used in their dishes range from Finocchio Salami to Revilla, even Jamon Serrano and Jamon Iberico.

Breads served are always homemade. The cheeses are also imported, just like the meats. They serve cheese like the Manchego - sheep milk from Spain’s Los Lianos Lamancha and from Murcia is the cheese made from goat milk, Murcia al Vino. A wide range of decadent desserts are also on the menu, like their delicious dulce de leche filled Churros which is served together with vanilla gelato or the heavenly turron gelato with Ricotta & Rhubarb Tart.

Velero also has a licensed bar selling local and imported wines served by the glass so you can drink the perfect accompaniment to your meal. Bookings, single or groups are also accepted here. And if you have that special date, you can choose to book an outdoor setting to make it more romantic.

Head Chef Craig McFarland, formerly Head Chef at The Tilbury and Senior Sous Chef of A Tavola Restaurants, has created a simple yet delicious menu.
