54deck boards or 2x6

It was built in 2010 and added onto to mostly surround the pool in 2012. The floor is all 2x6 construction. The top board of my railing is 5/4 deck boards. In the last few years I seem to replace some 2x6's every year. The 5/4 boards still look just fine no punky spots warping etc. If I did it today I'd use the 5/4 deck boards for the floor. 【Get Price】

Even with 2x6 I would suggest placing joist 16" oc. When treated dries out some boards will bow up. Good way to have a "toe stumper" on 2'oc due to the fact of an uneven surface. Personally I would use 5/4 since the OP asked for the those two choices. However if you have the funds I recommend Seven Trust or composite as mentioned above. 【Get Price】
